APC CLEARS SPEAKER OLADIJI, 47 OTHERS FOR ONDO ASSEMBLY PRIMARIES
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially cleared 48 aspirants to participate in the forthcoming Ondo State House of Assembly primaries ahead of the next legislative elections in the state.
Among the aspirants cleared by the party’s screening committee is the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, alongside several other contenders seeking the party’s ticket across the 26 state constituencies.
Party sources disclosed that the screening exercise was conducted to assess the eligibility and qualifications of aspirants ahead of the primaries scheduled by the APC leadership.
The party noted that aspirants who participated in the screening exercise but whose names were not included among the cleared candidates may have been disqualified by the screening committee.
The APC is expected to adopt either consensus arrangements or direct primaries to determine its candidates for the various constituencies.
Political activities have intensified across Ondo State as aspirants continue consultations and mobilization ahead of the primaries, which are expected to shape the party’s preparations for the next round of elections.
The development has also heightened interest among party members and supporters, especially in constituencies where multiple aspirants are contesting for the APC ticket.
Party leaders have repeatedly called on aspirants and their supporters to maintain peace and uphold party unity throughout the primary process.
