ONDO POLICE COMMAND GETS NEW LEADERSHIP AS CP ADEBOWALE LAWAL IS REMOVED

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Adebowale Lawal, has been removed from his position as head of the Ondo State Police Command.

According to reports, Lawal is expected to hand over the affairs of the command immediately pending the official announcement of his successor by the Nigeria Police Force.

Although authorities are yet to release detailed reasons for the development, the change in leadership has generated reactions across the state, especially within security and political circles.

CP Lawal served as the police commissioner overseeing security operations in Ondo State during a period marked by intensified efforts against kidnapping, cult-related violence, armed robbery, and other criminal activities.

Under his leadership, the command recorded several arrests and coordinated operations aimed at improving public safety across various parts of the state.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement explaining the circumstances surrounding his removal or confirming the identity of the incoming commissioner.

Residents and stakeholders are expected to closely monitor subsequent developments regarding the leadership transition within the Ondo State Police Command.
