ROTIMI AKINWAMIDE ENTERS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY RACE, PICKS APC NOMINATION FORMS


Hon. Rotimi Akinwamide has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly representing the Ile-Oluji and Okeigbo state Constituency, following his purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

The development signals a significant step in the build-up to the party’s primary election, as Akinwamide joins other aspirants seeking to secure the APC ticket for the state constituency.

In a statement made available to party members and supporters, Akinwamide expressed appreciation to key stakeholders within the party and government for what he described as a transparent and inclusive process that has enabled aspirants to freely participate in the primaries.

He specifically acknowledged the support and leadership of the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, alongside the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Hon. Olaoluwa Akindolire; the State Party Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatun; the Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Hon. Adebare Adeboye; and the APC Chairman in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo, Hon. Jerome Olorunyolemi.

Akinwamide noted that the decision by party leaders to conduct a primary election reflects a commitment to internal democracy and fairness within the APC, adding that such an approach strengthens unity and credibility within the party structure.

He also called on party members and supporters across the constituency to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and focused throughout the primary process. According to him, maintaining discipline and respect for party guidelines is essential to ensuring a credible and successful exercise.

The aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the APC and pledged to work collaboratively with stakeholders to advance the interests of the constituency if given the mandate.

The Ile-Oluji and Okeigbo state Constituency is expected to witness keen political activities in the coming weeks as aspirants intensify consultations ahead of the APC primaries.
