LOCAL SECURITY DRIVE GAINS MOMENTUM AS ADEBOYE HOSTS NFSS, APPROVES OFFICE FOR VIGILANCE CORPS
Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo, Ondo State — May 4, 2026
The Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Hon. Adebare Adeboye, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening local security frameworks following engagements with key security stakeholders.
Adeboye received the Ondo State leadership team of the Nigerian Forest Security Services (NFSS), formerly known as the Nigerian Hunter and Forest Security Services, as part of the agency’s familiarisation tour aimed at enhancing collaboration with local authorities in addressing security challenges.
During the meeting, the Ondo State Commander of the NFSS, Joseph Olugbenga Emmanuel, highlighted the operational structure and strategic role of the agency in supporting existing security architecture. He stressed the importance of inter-agency cooperation and community support in combating insecurity, while also appealing for logistical assistance, particularly mobility support, to improve field operations.
In his remarks, Adeboye commended the NFSS for its contributions to grassroots security and assured the team of the local government’s willingness to provide necessary support within available resources. He reaffirmed that the protection of lives and property remains a central focus of his administration.
Also in attendance was the NFSS Commander for Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, DFO Abiola Alabi Yinusa, alongside other members of the delegation.
In a related development, the Chairman hosted the Community Vigilance Corps (CVC), led by its local commander, who requested the provision of an operational office to enhance coordination and effectiveness.
Responding to the request, Adeboye approved the allocation of office space to the Corps, describing the move as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce community-based security initiatives. He further pledged continued support for the group to strengthen grassroots surveillance and ensure improved safety across the local government area.
