NUIS SPELLING BEE COMPETITION BEGINS AS 25 STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR NEXT ROUND IN ILE-OLUJI
The National Union of Ile-Oluji Students (NUIS) has officially commenced the first stage of its 2026 Spelling Bee Competition, aimed at promoting academic excellence and intellectual development among students in the community.
The competition, organized under the leadership of the NUIS National President, Comr. Sen. Ejifunmilayo Faith, popularly known as “EJI BALLER,” began on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with impressive participation from students across Ile-Oluji.
According to the organizers, the competition was designed in three stages to test the spelling proficiency, confidence, and academic abilities of participating students.
The opening stage featured over 42 students drawn from different schools within the community. Participants engaged in a highly competitive spelling exercise, demonstrating strong academic potential and enthusiasm throughout the event.
At the end of the exercise, 25 students successfully qualified for the second stage of the competition, which has been scheduled to hold on May 26, 2026.
The event also attracted notable personalities, including the Mayor of Ile-Oluji, Engineer Sam Adegboyega, whose presence highlighted the importance of educational advancement and youth empowerment in the community.
Organizers commended school representatives for their commitment and efforts in preparing students for the contest. Appreciation was also extended to the executives and appointees of NUIS for their coordination and support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
The moderators and officials who supervised the competition were equally praised for maintaining professionalism and fairness during the exercise.
Speaking after the event, NUIS leadership reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that encourage learning, unity, and academic development among students in Ile-Oluji.
The union encouraged qualified participants to intensify preparations ahead of the second stage of the competition.
