“SHE BELONGS HERE” — ILE-OLUJI RESIDENTS RALLY BEHIND SIMISOLA FAJEMIROKUN-AJAYI AMID INDIGENE CLAIMS

As political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election, stakeholders and residents in Ile-Oluji have strongly defended the indigene status of House of Representatives aspirant, Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi.

Community leaders and supporters dismissed recent claims questioning her connection to Ile-Oluji, insisting that the Fajemirokun family has deep ancestral roots in the town.

Speaking during a grassroots mobilisation walk held in Ile-Oluji, a community stakeholder identified as Mr. Adebisi stated that the family’s history in the community remains well known among residents.

“Her grandfather is buried in the soil of Ile-Oluji,” he said while addressing supporters during the procession across parts of the town.

Residents who participated in the outing described Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi as a true daughter of the community, noting that her ties to Ile-Oluji extend beyond politics.

The Friday mobilisation walk reportedly began from the historic Fajemirokun family house and moved through major areas of the town, including the popular market district, where supporters and residents welcomed the APC aspirant with cheers.

Several traders, youths, and community members were seen interacting with the campaign train as it moved through the area.

“She is not a stranger here. This is her home and these are her people,” another stakeholder said during the event.

Supporters also alleged that attempts to challenge her indigene status were politically motivated, maintaining that many residents are fully aware of her family’s longstanding connection to Ile-Oluji.

For many observers within the community, the public outing was viewed as a symbolic reaffirmation of identity, heritage, and acceptance among the people.

As preparations continue ahead of the APC primaries, supporters are calling on party delegates and constituents to support what they described as “a competent daughter of the soil” seeking to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
