SIMISOLA FAJEMIROKUN-AJAYI OUTLINES VISION FOR INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP, GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT ON TVC

Hon. Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi, an aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives seat representing Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency, has reaffirmed her commitment to purposeful leadership, youth inclusion, women empowerment, and sustainable grassroots development during a recent appearance on TVC.

Speaking during the television programme focused on leadership, governance, representation, and the future of Nigerian politics, Fajemirokun-Ajayi shared her vision for a more responsive and people-oriented style of representation if elected to serve the constituency at the National Assembly.

The House of Representatives hopeful emphasized the importance of quality representation that directly impacts the lives of ordinary people through empowerment initiatives, economic support programmes, and policies that encourage growth at the grassroots level.

During the interview, she highlighted the need to promote local industries and preserve indigenous economic strengths. She revealed that the traditional fabric she wore during the programme, known as Alari, is proudly produced in Ondo State. According to her, promoting indigenous products and supporting local production remain critical parts of her economic vision for the constituency and the state at large.

Fajemirokun-Ajayi noted that encouraging local textile production and small-scale enterprises would not only preserve cultural heritage but also create employment opportunities and stimulate economic activities for women and young entrepreneurs.

She also expressed deep appreciation to the people of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo, particularly women across the constituency, for the growing support and encouragement her aspiration has continued to receive. According to her, many constituents have openly expressed their desire to see a woman represent the federal constituency, describing the moment as a significant opportunity for inclusive leadership and broader participation in governance.

The aspirant further commended members of her campaign structure and support groups for their dedication, guidance, and unwavering commitment to the project. She explained that her campaign slogan, Omobowale, meaning “the child has returned home,” reflects her desire to reconnect with the people and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of her constituency.

Speaking on her background, Fajemirokun-Ajayi stated that she was raised in a family known for excellence and success in business, noting that her upbringing exposed her to leadership, enterprise, and strategic management from an early age. She added that her own accomplishments in business have equipped her with the experience, discipline, and capacity required to deliver effective representation and practical solutions to the challenges facing the constituency.

As part of her proposed plans for effective representation, she disclosed her intention to establish a comprehensive constituents’ database that would enable direct communication and engagement with the people. She explained that such a system would help her office identify the needs of constituents more efficiently, improve accessibility, and ensure that empowerment programmes and interventions reach the right beneficiaries.

In addition, Fajemirokun-Ajayi identified agriculture and tourism as major components of her development agenda for the federal constituency. She noted that Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo possess enormous agricultural potential and tourism assets capable of generating employment, boosting internally generated economic activities, and attracting investment opportunities. According to her, her proposed programmes would focus on strengthening agricultural production, supporting farmers, encouraging agribusiness development, and promoting tourism opportunities already existing within the constituency.

Fajemirokun-Ajayi maintained that her aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to serve, empower the people, and create opportunities for women, youths, artisans, entrepreneurs, and vulnerable groups across Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency.

She called on party members, stakeholders, youths, and residents of the constituency to continue supporting her vision for a more inclusive, accountable, and development-focused representation.
