The Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Ondo State Chapter, in collaboration with Aiku Ever Bright International Foundation, has announced plans to launch a widows empowerment initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable women across Ondo State.
The initiative, tagged “Widows Empowerment Program,” is sponsored by Prince Bright Adelegan, Patron of YAN Ondo State Chapter, and is expected to benefit 180 widows drawn from the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to the organizers, the program is designed to provide support, encouragement, and empowerment to widows facing economic and social challenges, while also promoting compassion and social responsibility within communities.
Speaking on the initiative, the Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Ondo State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Isaiah Oyawale, described the outreach as a humanitarian effort aimed at restoring hope and improving the lives of widows across the state.
He noted that many widows continue to face hardship, loneliness, and uncertainty, stressing the importance of collective efforts in supporting vulnerable members of society.
“This initiative goes beyond empowerment. It represents love, care, and a commitment to ensuring widows are not forgotten in our communities,” he stated.
The organizers also called on stakeholders, youth leaders, philanthropists, and members of the public to support the initiative as preparations continue ahead of the official launch.
